Move-in Checklist
Let us be the first to congratulate you on moving into a new property. As part of the move-in process, you'll need to address the following important keys:
First Month's Rent & Security Deposit
Your first month's rent and security deposit are payable at the lease signing. Please be sure to confirm the amounts in advance.
Move-in Date & Inspection
Your moving date will be determined at your lease signing. If we need to schedule an inspection with you present, we'll also provide additional information at that time.
Utilities
All tenants are required to place utility accounts in their name for the duration of the lease. We recommend calling local providers at least five days in advance, to ensure you have no problems with outages. Failure to handle this may result in additional fees from the utility company, which you'll need to handle.
Move-out Checklist
As you prepare to leave an Elite Property Management home, you'll need to take care of a few important responsibilities. Take a close look at this checklist to familiarize yourself with the process.
Notice of Intent to Vacate
Our offices must receive written notification of your intent to leave your property. Please refer to the terms and conditions of your lease to make certain you respect our agreement.
Property Condition
Your home should be returned to us in rent-ready condition; in other words, you should leave things as you found them. Please be sure to take care of the following:
- Cleaning: All rental units must be thoroughly cleaned. Vacuum or sweep floors, wipe down hard surfaces, and remove all personal belongings from the home. Pay special attention in the home's bathrooms and kitchen space, where you may need to clean appliances like the oven and fridge and thoroughly sanitize food preparation surfaces.
- Landscaping & Outdoor Areas: If your home has outdoor space, be sure to complete all landscaping chores one final time before leaving the premises. Mow the lawn, replace outdoor bulbs, and remove all trash from the garage.
- Repairs: Did damage occur during your stay? You are responsible for patching holes left by screws and nails, replacing dead lightbulbs, and making a good effort to repair any other minor cosmetic issues.
Security Deposit
Your security deposit serves as a guarantee to protect your home against damage during your stay. After you return the keys to your rental property, we will conduct a thorough inspection of the premises. Any damage will be repaired and the costs for such repairs will be deducted from the deposit. We will return the amount due as quickly as possible.
Remember, your security deposit is not a rent payment and cannot be used as such. If you fail to pay your final month's rent, we will take whatever measures necessary to recover these funds.
